Drawing for Plein Air 1-day Workshop
Drawing for Plein Air is an entry point for those new to plein air painting, and for experienced artists looking to refresh their skills. Conducted entirely outdoors, students will draw a variety of scenes and subjects while learning the fundamental principles of drawing the landscape including:
Composition and Design including the Rule of Thirds and Golden Ratio.
Perspective, including establishing the horizon, creating a focal point, understanding figure and ground planes, comparative or proportional perspective, and single and multi-point linear perspective.
Students will also learn about negative space, movement, line quality and value.
This 5-hour workshop is restricted to just 10 students per day and runs from 10:00am to 3:00pm at Irvine Ranch Historic Park.
